A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?

the man wrote "your exact weight" on the paper.
man...i should do that.
hmmm... two hours and i still haven't got a clue. i said give me something challenging, not plain impossible.
ok, obviously the carny can't get the right weight. somehow, he did something to manipulate the poor boy. hmmmm. i know, the boy had to pay him $100 admission fee. plus tax. ok maybe not.
funny that's the first thing i thought of but no angie, that's not right. no. no. no. it's just too easy. is it?
or maybe he was standing on a hidden scale, and the man just fooled that poor, poor, (to be exact minus $50 poorer) boy.
or maybe the carny was a psychic!!
Maybe joyce is tricking us. It's one of the riddles that have no real answer because there is not enough data to support a conclusive response. The answer is: there is no answer. In fact there might not even be a real question.
