so happy
i never thought that i could be anymore passionate about music...
didn't think it was possible.
so i've had this new job for like a month & 2weeks i think.
and it took me awhile to find songs for Otay's Concert Choir to sing for the district-wide concert, entitled "Holiday Sing".
we actually had that concert last night.
we performed 2 songs. "Noche de Paz" and "Exsultate Justi In Domino"
we learned "Noche de Paz", an acapella piece, in ONE WEEK!!!!!! wow!
and we learned "Exsultate Justi in Domino" in 3 weeks!
so i was a bit nervous about my first performance in front of the whole district.
aside from a couple of mistakes things went great!!!!!!!!!!!
and there was this guy, Dr. Doyle, who directed the district song, "Hallelujah Chorus"...
he kept coming up to my students and complimenting them!!!
praise God everyone!
after all my doubt, all my mess ups, every tear, every worry, every stress....
i know that i am supposed to be here.
things can only get better from here.
i am pumped y'all.
those kiddos are nothing short of amazing....
"ain't no party like an otay party 'cause an otay party don't stoooop"
...their chant of the evening. do those kiddos know how to do it right or what?!
anyways...i will put up videos of the performance later!!!
ps- thanks to Assistant Principal Quillen for coming out and supporting! =) thanks to ashley and joe for accompanying us! thanks to leslie and danah for doing the students' makeup and hair. thanks to you all for your prayers and support! and thanks to the BIG GUY IN THE SKY for allowing me to put my best foot forward, for giving me strength to carry out your will, for breaking walls down, for putting angels in my life, and for LOVING ME!!!
